Renovation Plans Approved For Courthouse Annex
Members of the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners have approved a preliminary plan under which a recently-purchased building will be renovated into a courthouse annex.
Some amendments were made prior to approval of the resolution during a meeting held Tuesday. Under the resolution renovations of the First Volunteer Bank building adjacent to the courthouse on West Gaines Street, will be funded through bond proceeds through the Capital Projects Fund. County Executive Paul Rosson is authorized to contract with the architectural firm in order to generate plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Once plans are generated, the plan is to be brought before the county’s Facilities Committee for review before they are presented to the commission as a whole.
